The legal dispute of who should be the leader of the Board of Directors of Japdeva’s Workers’ Union (Sintrajap) will not obstruct the process of negotiations for the concession of Port Limón, as analyzed by expert in labor law of Facio & Cañas, Luis Sánchez. The lawyer was consulted by El Financiero weekly newspaper, for its edition of March 1st, 2010.

Sánchez explained that the resolution from the Ministry of Labor regarding the appointment of a new board of directors for Sintrajap is legal. “The entity competent to resolve these matters is the Ministry of Labor; what it resolves is valid. The analysis of whether what is resolved is good or not is complicated, because the entire file is necessary, and a small detail could vary the frame of the discussion, but in principle, if it validated a board of directors, its agreements are according to law”, states the expert to the weekly newspaper.
