The Republic of Guatemala designated Facio & Cañas´ attorney, Rodrigo Oreamuno, as arbitrator in a case filed by a Spanish company against the State.

The case is related to a claim filed by Iberdrola Energía S.A. against Guatemala.

Mr. Oreamuno was chosen by the Central American country while a French national, Professor Yves Derains, was chosen as arbitrator by the plaintiff. The arbitrators will jointly select the third arbitrator who will chair the arbitration panel.

Once the panel is installed, which will probably occur during the next month, the process will begin.
