Facio & Cañas won the award for "The Transaction of the Year 2007" as a result of the counseling provided to McDonald's Corporation in Costa Rica with respect to the acquisition of its regional franchise. This transaction involved the transfer of 1600 restaurants in 18 Latin American countries.

The honor granted by Latin Lawyer, the most prestigious magazine in legal matters for Iberoamerica was awarded to Facio & Cañas’ attorneys Carlos M.Valverde, Thomas Guard, Adrian Torrealba and Luis A. Sanchez, for the category "Mergers and Acquisitions".

Several national newscasts, including Telenoticias, highlighted this event with the following headlines: “Facio & Cañas was awarded the “Transaction of the Year”, “Costa Rican Law Firm receives international award.”
